Ambassador of the Quarter
4th Quarter 2011 - Karen Serfass
Karen Serfass, Garden of the Gods Club. I moved here 15 years ago from Pennsylvania and never looked back, although I do miss the food! I joined the Chamber ambassadors because I found out about all the great things that they do for the Chamber and what the Chamber does for this community. I am honored to be an ambassador for the Chamber for 9 years there is a great camaraderie with the ambassadors that I will always cherish. While I enjoy volunteering my time to the business side of the community, I also volunteer to work with the homeless during the evenings (Salvation Army, Springs Rescue Mission and just walking down Tejon Street talking to those who are less fortunate than I). There is a need in our city to have people and businesses work together, build relationships and create a strong, well-rounded society. I am proud to live in Colorado Springs and I know we are on the right path to be that successful city.
3rd Quarter 2011 - Allison Jencson
I am a small business owner, mother of 4 children and married. We also have 3 dogs. My family loves the outdoors and we enjoy camping and riding dirt bikes and/or ATV’s on the amazing trails near Wilkerson Summit. I have lived in Colorado Springs for almost 20 years. I grew up as an Air Force brat (go Falcons!) so living in a city that has such a Military influence is great. I love being a part of the Chamber and supporting their mission in the Colorado Springs community. I am so blessed to be a part of the Chamber Ambassador Club too. I have met so many wonderful, amazing and inspirational leaders in our community through the Chamber. I have been privy to so many great volunteer experiences such as the Walk to End Alzheimer’s that I never knew were available to me through being a part of this organization. I can only hope to give back to the Ambassador Club as much as they have given me. Thank you all!
