Committees
The Greater Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce offers many ways to get
involved in the community. Several committees are looking for
individuals with knowledge in certain areas of expertise. Call the
Chamber for more details.
Ambassador Club
The Ambassador Club is a group of dedicated volunteers from various
businesses throughout the Colorado Springs community. These members act
as a liaison between the Chamber and businesses that are Chamber
members. Their mission is to welcome, nurture, and recruit new Chamber
members, act as goodwill representatives at various Chamber functions,
and aid in the support of members.
Business Leader Roundtables
The Chamber of Commerce offers three distinct roundtable opportunities.
These include roundtables for all business leaders and decision makers;
roundtables tailored to the needs of women business leaders, and
roundtables aimed at supporting our Rising Professionals ages 21-39. All
of the roundtables are designed to provide participants outside
perspectives from their peers about business challenges and recommended
solutions.
Legislative Watch Council
The newly formed Legislative Watch Council (LWC) will work from a
strategic standpoint towards sound public policy that enhances local
private enterprise and promotes the promise of our region towards
healthy economic opportunities.
This program will allow the Chamber to be a pivotal force in helping to
shape the state’s public policy agenda on key issues relevant to our
Membership.
Members of the LWC participate in the following mission:

Review legislation to analyze the
negative impacts to business and our community or to identify
opportunities to grow business

Participate in the debate about the
different pieces of legislation.

Discussing what the Chamber’s
position should be going forward.

Participate in the strategic
discussions about how to proceed.

Assist in crafting the report on how
the legislation that is signed into law impacts business and our

The Greater Colorado Springs
Chamber Political Action Committee (ChamberPAC)
ChamberPAC, the Chamber-sponsored political action committee, represents
a grassroots effort to elect positive, pro-business candidates to public
office and advocate on ballot issues and initiatives. The committee
identifies, endorses, and provides election support to qualified
candidates whose principals are consistent with those of business and
industry. It is the only political action organization representing the
overall business community in Southern Colorado. ChamberPAC operates
solely on the contributions of individuals and businesses who want to
ensure positive political leadership for the future. Although ChamberPAC
is affiliated with the Greater Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce, its

Military
Affairs Activities
Military Affairs Council -
The Military Affairs Council (MAC) was founded in 1941, and it is
one of the oldest and most pre-eminent councils of its kind. Events and
programs sponsored by the MAC include:

Hail and Farewell receptions for
incoming or outgoing senior military leaders.

Armed Forces Week activities
and the week's awards luncheon, which recognize top enlisted
personnel at local military installations. Attendance at the
luncheon numbers on average more than 1,000 people!

Liaison activities with military
commanders.

Private sector advocacy for local
military issues affecting our community.
Defense Mission Task Force
The Defense Mission Task Force (DTMF) is a group of volunteers who
help resolve problems identified by the military - problems that require
civilian community support and assistance. The task force also assists
with improving ties between the military bases and the community, and
keeps informed of the military's privatization of various functions
within their structure.
Task force volunteers are active in
promoting the necessity of our military presence not only for the
business community, but also for the sake of national security and
defense. At least once a year, the Defense Mission Task Force meets with
legislators locally and nationally to ensure a mutual understanding of
the military's vital existence in country and our community. |
