Polly Welden

Polly Welden has been the Chamber Communications and Marketing Manager since 2008 and directs and produces advertising, media, corporate communications and marketing.

Before moving to Colorado from Albuquerque, N.M., she owned an event management business producing corporate events and extensive fund raisers for nonprofits. As a Senior Account Executive and VP of advertising agencies, she specialized in tourism, hospitality and economic development clients. At one point in her career, she held contracts with the State of New Mexico Tourism and Economic Development Departments and served as a marketing consultant to 26 Chambers of Commerce across New Mexico. She opened doors as the first Public Relations and Marketing Director for a major law firm in New Mexico, a regional health insurance corporation and a national laser surgery. She did development and fundraising for a PBS station and the largest musical theater in the US. She has also sold media time and space for newspapers, radio and TV.

While touring the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean for the number one and two tour companies in the U.S., she also provided marketing and event consultation to a major utilities company on a retainer basis. She is an award winning writer, voice talent and has hosted a late night TV movie program, was a TV news anchor and game show producer.

She holds a B.A. with advanced credits in Communications from Iowa State University. Polly is an active P.E.O., former treasurer of the Academy Optimists Club and serves on the Board of the Pikes Peak Advertising Federation. She enjoys her family, faith, dogs, reading and sudoko puzzles.
